SMCC will showcase successful case studies, innovative methodologies, and practical solutions that enhance knowledge, monitoring, and conservation outcomes for small mammals.
Our primary focus is on hamsters and sousliks. However, we also encourage contributions on predator-prey
interactions involving other species small mammal species exploring key current topics in small mammal
research and conservation, including:
- Hamster and souslik ecology and conservation
- Renewable energy development
- Impacts from agriculture
- Reintroductions and management in changing ecosystems
- Predator–prey interactions
- Innovative and emerging methodologies
We welcome abstracts for talks (15 minutes), speed talks (5 minutes) and posters from anyone involved in small
mammal (mammals of importance for birds of prey) research or conservation.
SMCC 2026 will offer an excellent opportunity to share the latest scientific findings, strengthen collaborations,
build lasting professional connections, and enjoy the company of colleagues and friends from across Europe.
Whether you are presenting new research, discussing conservation strategies, or exploring innovative solutions
to emerging challenges, we hope the conference will help advance your work and ideas.

Your registration will be confirmed upon receipt of the registration form and the payment.

The participation fee is to be paid on the bank account of The Habitat Foundation, clearly mentioning
“SMCC2026” and your name as in the registration form. Please, send a copy of the transaction receipt to us

Once registered, the registration fee category cannot be changed.
The submission of abstracts can be done through the Abstract Submission Form.
Participant Registration Fee categories:
- Early bird participation fee: € 200 paid before April 1st.
- Regular participation fee: € 250 paid between April 1 and July 1.
- Late participation fee: € 350 for payment after July 1st.
Registration Information:
- Registrations can only be made online via the registration form.
- The registration fee does not cover accommodation and travel costs.

Registration Fee Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations received on or before August 31, 2026 will receive an 80% refund of the total amount paid.
Cancellations made between August 1 and August 31, 2026 will receive a 50% refund of the total amount paid.
From September 1, 2026, onward, no refunds will be issued for cancellations.
